"After a year marked by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, exports of handicrafts showed a recovery during the first quarter of 2021, recording a growth rate of 12%,'' the Ministry said in a statement.
Categories that showed growth including, wrought iron (82%), leather goods (53%), and basketry (47%), it added.
Regarding contributions to export sales, pottery and stone ranked first with a share of 26%.
