The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 465,769 while the number of cured people increases to 441,693, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 94.8%.
A total of 23 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 8,128, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.7%.
These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (6), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (4), Fez-Meknes (3), Souss-Massa (2), the Oriental (2) Marrakech-Safi (2), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (1), Draa-Tafilalet (1), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (1) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (1).
The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (384), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (160), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (132), Souss-Massa (90), the Oriental (43), , Marrakech-Safi (38), Draa-Tafilalet (21), Fez-Meknès (20), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (13), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (12), Guelmim-Oued Noun (6) and Beni Mellal-Khénifra (6).
The number of active cases has reached 15,948, including 772 patients in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
The occupancy rate of the Covid-19 intensive care beds is 24.4%, according to the same source.
