According to a joint press release of the two Houses of the Parliament, the two speakers contacted these organizations and parliamentary unions within the framework of active parliamentary diplomacy to convey Morocco's sincere and fair voice to the various regional and international parliamentary organizations and forums.
This initiative comes "in the context of the implementation of the values of dialogue and consultation" to highlight the fraternal and noble positions of many organizations, through their full support to the efforts of the Kingdom and the United Nations to find a peaceful and final solution to the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara, they underlined.
In this regard, the two speakers emphasized the sacred character of the national cause, whose historical, legal and realistic legitimacy has confirmed the credibility of the Moroccan position.
Messages addressed to the heads of various regional and international parliamentary organizations and unions reviewed the dangerous and unacceptable provocations by the polisario militias, after their illegal and illegitimate incursion, starting October 21, into El Guerguarat in the Moroccan Sahara, and their criminal and intimidating maneuvers hindering the freedom of civil and commercial movement, the same source said.
El Malki and Benchamach recalled the series of similar transgressions that have continued over the past four years and which constituted a blatant violation of Security Council resolutions calling on the polisario to put an end to these destabilizing actions.
They also underlined that Morocco - after committing itself to the utmost restraint and giving full latitude to find a diplomatic solution through the good offices of the UN- had no choice but to shoulder its responsibilities and fulfill its legitimate duty to protect the border linking the Kingdom and neighboring Mauritania by ending the state of obstruction resulting from the subversive and intimidating practices of the polisario armed militias.
The Moroccan Parliament stressed that Morocco will continue to take the necessary measures to restore order and ensure the safe and smooth movement of people and goods in this area, affirming that it will continue to support the efforts of the UN Secretary-General within the framework of the political process, which must be resumed under clear criteria and with the involvement of the real parties to this regional conflict.
