In a statement to the press on the occasion of the 49th UAE National Day (December 2), the diplomat noted that his country looks to the future with optimism and aspires to elevate its relations with Morocco to the expectations of the wise leadership of both countries, making them "exemplary and rich in achievements in terms of economy and investment and of fruitful and constructive strategic cooperation."
The celebration of this occasion is a reminder of the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Morocco by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the United Arab Emirates, and the late His Majesty King Hassan II, Aldhaheri said.
H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and his brother H.M. King Mohammed VI continue the march of development and edification with determination and constancy and with the generous support of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, he added.
On his country's initiative to open a Consulate General in the city of Laayoune, the diplomat underlined that this decision confirms the firm and unwavering position of the UAE in support of the just causes of Morocco, on the top of which is the Moroccan Sahara."
"We, in the UAE, are very proud of the pioneering reforms undertaken by His Majesty King Mohammed VI," he went on.
The diplomat also reviewed many achievements made by the UAE in 2020 in various economic, social, scientific, cultural, technological and diplomatic fields.
