The Saharawi Association for the Defense of Human Rights (ASADEDH) denounced, at several international bodies, "the savage criminal act perpetrated on October 19, 2020 by an Algerian army patrol against two Saharawis residing in the camps of Tindouf, south of Algeria", underlined the same source.
According to the Chilean news website, the ASADEDH condemned in a statement the attack by Algerian soldiers against civilians, Saharawi gold diggers, who were burnt alive south of the Algerian village of Uinet Bellakraa, near the Dakhla camp, where they were trapped in a well. Saharawi civilians, Maha Ould Hamdi Oudl Suelem and Ali Idrissi, were spotted by an Algerian army patrol and burnt alive and in cold blood, without warning by members of the military patrol", noted El Siete.
The NGO denounced this crime at the United Nations and the High Commissioner for Refugees so that they "shoulder their responsibilities and open an investigation to shed light on this macabre crime". The Sahrawi Association held the Algerian authorities responsible for all the atrocities committed against the defenseless population on their territory, the news site noted.
In addition to public denunciations in Europe and Africa for this "horrible" crime, representatives of the NGO "Human Rights Without Borders" asked for a meeting with the Algerian embassy accredited to Buenos Aires, said the Chilean media outlet.
