In a press release, the DGSN said that the national police services are still conducting control operations and regulatory procedures targeting establishments and businesses that sell alcoholic beverages and drinks mixed with alcohol, with the aim of ensuring sound and firm application of the relevant legal and regulatory provisions, as well as the health and safety measures imposed by the state of health emergency.
The control operations carried out from September 12 to 15 in Casablanca, Rabat and Agadir, by the national police services, in coordination with the local authorities, the Administration of customs and indirect taxes and the office for health security of food products (ONSSA) concerned 144 establishments and public premises, added the same source, specifying that 99 infractions were recorded in relation to the non-compliance with the type of authorization, unjustified absence of the manager, non-compliance with the necessary authorizations for a certain number of employees, non-compliance with social distancing and non-wearing by employees of protective masks.
Twenty fines have been issued, the statement said, noting that the judicial police services have opened preliminary investigations under the supervision of the competent public prosecutors, in order to determine all acts attributed to the managers of the premises in which the infractions have been committed.
At the level of the city of Marrakech, the control operations carried out on Wednesday by the joint commission composed of the national police services, local authorities, the administration of customs and indirect taxes and ONSSA uncovered seven infractions concerning twenty establishments and businesses, it added.
These operations resulted in the seizure of 124 outdated beer bottles, 36 bottles of alcoholic beverages bearing no tax stamp or bearing suspicious tags, said the same source, noting that ONSSA destroyed products and consumer goods found in four premises and not meeting hygienic conditions.
Following these operations, the competent local authorities took the decision to close a bar located in one of the hotel units and which violated the current state of health emergency.
