In this analysis entitled "Financing climate action and energy transition during the COVID-19 Crisis," Hilale highlighted Morocco's experience with energy transition and the Kingdom's policy to move toward green finance and renewable energy.
"This is a relevant strategic choice which finds all its place in the difficult situation the world is going through today," he pointed out.
The ambassador added that Morocco sets the example of a country concerned about ensuring its own energy security, while meeting its commitments in the fight against global warming. The Kingdom has, in fact, increased to 42% the share of clean energy in the electricity mix by 2021, a share that should rise to 52% by 2030.
The article also shed light on the challenges of green finance in the context of the health crisis and the opportunities available to developing countries, particularly in Africa in terms of energy transition.
