The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the means to develop relations between the two countries in the media sector.
Talks also focused on the means to strengthen cooperation between MAP and the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), and also between the press agencies of the Balkan countries and the Atlantic Federation of African News Agencies (FAAPA), which brings together nearly 30 African agencies.
In a statement to M24, MAP's continuous news channel, the Bulgarian ambassador said that this meeting is part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Bulgaria (September 1961).
The Bulgarian ambassador was invited to take part in MAP's diplomatic forum as soon as the health conditions will improve.
For his part, Hachimi Idrissi highlighted the readiness of the Moroccan press agency and its networks to expand exchanges between the two countries and also to help economic stakeholders develop and enhance these exchanges.
MAP's Director General took this opportunity to review the evolution of the Moroccan press agency over the past ten years and the efforts undertaken for its modernization and diversification of its products, so as to make it the Agency of the 21st century.
He also voiced MAP's readiness to support, as a media partner, the efforts made to consolidate cooperation and the strategic partnership between Morocco and Bulgaria.
Hachimi Idrissi also mentioned the 7th News Agencies World Congress (NAWC) which will be organized by the Moroccan Press Agency (MAP) in November 2022 in Marrakech.
The Moroccan press agency took part, in June 2019, in the Sixth News Agencies World Congress held in Sofia.
MAP and the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) inked, in March 2019, a new cooperation agreement which replaces the one signed between the two agencies in 2004 with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the two agencies.
